Our Story

Established in 2019 by Brigitte Sharp, Lou focuses on creating footwear that embodies subdued elegance and tenacity. Inspired by her two daughters and the women in her life, Brigitte created Lou to personify their strength, spirit, and enduring style.

 Lou focuses on creating footwear in timeless, versatile silhouettes with a nod towards minimalism.  Every Lou collection is tailored for the modern woman with a practical sensibility - focusing on comfort and fit from the first wear. Design is approached with a discipline that ensures that every detail is considered and implemented in the most thoughtful way. 

Lou was born from the androgynous nickname of Louise, a name that has been passed down through generations in Brigitte's family.

Philosophy

 Lou believes in slow production and responsible sourcing, and we have partnered with a manufacturer who shares those same values. All of our footwear is crafted from the finest leather sourced from Italy and made by hand in Los Angeles, California. As a nod to the Lou spirit, olive green is our signature color - a color symbolizing growth and renewal.
