Lou Designs LLC ("Lou," "we," us," or "our") places the highest priority on the privacy rights of its online visitors ("your," yours," or "your"). This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you browse or make a purchase from http://www.shoplou.com (the “Site”).

By visiting this Site, or providing your information to us, you accept the items and procedures described in this Privacy Policy. Please leave this Site immediately if you do not accept this Privacy Policy or are accessing the Site in a country or territory where use of this Site is prohibited.

What information do we collect from you?

When you browse the Site, we automatically receive certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, internet protocol (IP) address, and operating system. Additionally, as you browse the Site, we automatically receive information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site, and information about how you interact with the Site. We refer to this automatically-collected information as “Device Information”.

Additionally, when you purchase something from the store or attempt to do so, we collect, as part of the purchasing process, the personal information that you provide to us, including your name, address, email address, phone number, and payment information (including credit card numbers and PayPal information, depending on your chosen payment method). We refer to this information as “Order Information”.

When we talk about “Personal Information” in this Privacy Policy, we are talking both “Device Information” and “Order Information.”

Consent and how it works.

When you provide us with Order Information to complete a transaction, verify your credit card, place an order, arrange for a delivery, or return a purchase, you imply that you consent to our collecting it and using it for that specific reason only. 

If we ask for your personal information for a secondary reason, like marketing, we will either ask you directly for your expressed consent, or provide you with an opportunity to opt-out. If, after you opt-in to our Site registration or email contact list, and you change your mind, you may withdraw your consent for us to contact you, and for the continued collection, use or disclosure of your information, at any time by emailing us at hi@shoplou.com.

How do we use your information?

We use the Order Information that we collect generally to fulfill any orders placed through the Site (including processing your payment information, arranging for shipping, and providing you with invoices and/or order confirmations). Additionally, we use this Order Information to communicate with you and to screen our orders for potential risk or fraud.

We use the Device Information that we collect to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimize our Site (for example, by generating analytics about how our customers browse and interact with the Site, and to assess the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns).

Do we share your information with others?

We share your Personal Information with third parties to help us use your Personal Information in the ways described above. 

We may engage third parties to perform services in connection with the operation of our business. Examples of such services include payment processing and authorization, fraud protection and credit risk reduction, order fulfillment and shipping, marketing, Web site evaluation, and data analysis. For example, we use Shopify, Inc. to power our online store. Shopify provides us with the online e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products to you. Your data is stored through Shopify's data storage, databases, and the general Shopify application. Shopify stores your data on a secure server behind a firewall. How do we use your information for targeted ads?

As described above, we use your Personal Information to provide you with targeted advertisements or marketing communications we believe may be of interest to you. We work with third parties that use their own technologies to provide targeted advertisements on our behalf on the Internet. During your visit to our Site, those third parties may web beacons, cookies, and other technologies to collect information, including your IP address, time, and date. This information may be used to analyze and track data as well as provide advertisements that may be of interest to you.

If you no longer wish to be contacted by Lou, you can follow the unsubscribe instructions that accompany any contact e-mail.

Note that if you opt-out of certain contacts, we may still contact you about any problems or issues with your account, profile, or any purchases you have made on the site or from us.

You have a right to request access to, rectification, or erasure of your data, or restriction of processing, and to object to said processing, as well as the right to data portability to the extent applicable. You can also oppose to the use of your data to build up your client profile; in this case, please note that you will no longer benefit from customized offers or services.

You have the following rights regarding the user information you have provided us:

• To request that we correct any errors, outdated information, or omissions in the information;
• To request that your information not be used to contact you (except as otherwise provided in this Privacy Policy or in our Terms of Service);
• To request that your information be removed from any of our solicitations;
• To request that your information be deleted from our records; and
• To opt out of being solicited by the Site or third parties.

The data that is collected and processed under our contact form shall only be kept throughout the duration of the processing of your request. Should you decide to create a client account, your identification data shall be kept for as long as your account is active and you do not close it. You may close your account at any time. Your request shall be taken into consideration immediately, or in case of any pending order, as soon as it shall have been executed in full.

Changes to this Privacy Policy.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time, so please review it frequently. Changes will take immediate effect upon their posting to the Site. If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you here that it has been updated, so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we use and/or disclose it.

Age of consent.

We do not sell or ship any items ordered through this Site directly to anyone who we know to be under the age of 13, nor do we collect any Personal Information from anyone who we know to be under the age of 13. If you are under the age of 13, you should use this Site only with the involvement of a parent or guardian and should not submit any Personal Information to us; otherwise, you should leave this Site immediately.

Security.

The security of your information is of central importance to us and we will only collect personally identifiable information to the extent deemed reasonably necessary to serve you in view of our legitimate business purposes, as described above.
